Welcome to the Director of Development's page. Here you'll learn of the projects we, the leadership and the membership of the McAlester Scottish Rite, are putting together to expand and enhance our mission and the Strategic Objectives of the Southern Jurisdiction.
CULTURAL PROGRAM
One of the main foci of the Scottish Rite as set by both Southern Jurisdiction as well as tradition is the need of education. Over the next coming months, the Development Team will be devising a series of plays, concerts, lectures, and other events as time allows and the facilities permit.

ARCHITECTURAL PLAN OF THE CENTER
In order to be more effective in our new cultural and educational programs, the McAlester Scottish Rite recognizes that the Center needs to be updated for the 21st century. The Leadership of the McAlester Scottish Rite has been in talks with Sikes and Abernathy, an architectural firm from Tulsa who specializes in restoration of historic buildings. All of the elements that need attention have been broken up into phases by immediate need. Below is the listing of the areas that need work and approximate costs (if and when available):
PHASE I
A. Roof improvements on roofs numbered 3, 4, and 14 on the original blueprints: $50,000
B. Installation of handicap accessible ramps and entrances to the Main Lobby (1st Floor) and the Egyptian Auditorium (2nd Floor)
C. Renovation of existing restrooms to accommodate women and the handicapped
D. Installation of a fire alarm system: $90,000
E. Installation of an energy management system (mainly for heating): $300,000
F. Masonry restoration of the north elevation and repairs of the front porch deck and tile
PHASE II
A. Installation of a cooling system in the Egyptian Auditorium, Main Lobby, the Elmer J. Hale Dining Room, mezzanine areas, 2nd floor meeting rooms, and all upper level dormitory areas: $750,000
B. Repair of moisture damaged ceiling and walls - mostly located in the Auditorium
C. Improvements in the Auditorium such as scenery, backdrops, curtains, lighting system, etc.: $300,000
D. Repair or replacement of original windows
E. Installation of a fire suppression system: $150,000
PHASE III
A. Improvements of the parking and sidewalks for guests and staff - also includes site lighting improvements
B. Installation of a security system: $40,000
C. Various paint and plaster repair throughout the building
D. Commercial kitchen upgrades: $150,000
E. Installation / renovation of central elevator to all three floors
F. Installation of a freight elevator to the Elmer J. Hale Dining Room and the Egyptian Auditorium
